Do some of you experiment with chemicals to create new substances?

I knew a man who created a formula which could reveal gold within water. It saved much time in searching or panning yet the chemicals were highly acidic and burned the skin.

There no longer seems to be any call for such a chemical but I am curious about other fascinating uses for these scientific wonders.

Or perhaps for medicinal purposes.

I would very much like to discuss the modern findings of any scientists, chemists or doctors that are here.

In my time, gold was so desperately craved for that men would kill for it and were always seeking ways to find more of it. While there is still such theft or murder going on, it appears that pure gold nuggets are not usually the most desired item stolen or fought over.

What is it that is of most value here? What is most valuable to you?

[ The viewpoint spins very slowly and smoothly, not showing a face but a tree, the bark, a branch, a nest. Occasionally tiny fuzzy grey heads stick out over the nest, and their squawking can be heard. The nestlings are grey and white, with pin feathers and a couple have a crest. Someone is studying a nest of blue jays. ]

I’m pretty sure there is a parent around, but only pretty sure. I don’t really know what they are either. Some kind of bird but? Are they going to be alright? They keep yelling.

Which isn’t what I was thinking about saying, but they caught my attention. Anyway, I’ve been filled in, including being told I was here before, even if I don’t remember.

[ With that Anakin pulls the device closer to him, turning it to record him. He’s young, the scar over his face fresh and his hair is very short – he’s only recently knighted and had his braid cut, and his hair is still very short from the more traditional haircut. And his smile is not quite confident, even shy. ]

It's clear that she might have been practicing this speech in an effort to sound commanding as the officers of the Resistance. This is serious business.

[He can't trust his visions, but even if knows that, it doesn't chase away the gnawing uncertainty in his gut.]

[Watching a few million possible outcomes is pretty tiring, so when Stephen's face comes into view on the feed he can probably be forgiven for looking like he could do with a nap, but regardless of this he seems quite awake and alert. Wired, maybe.

The backdrop is a park not too far from the government housing in Maurtia Falls and Stephen has evidently plopped himself down on the lower base of a war monument with his back against the die. The customary grumpy rain has apparently rolled on through at some point and while his cloak kindly thought to shield Stephen from most of it, he's still... a little damp. Not that it seems to bother him too much.]

All right, let's get the preamble out the way, shall we?

Hello. I'm Doctor Stephen Strange and we've obviously got a big problem here.

So, I spent some time going over the possible outcomes of the end of this week and... Let's say depending on your outlook on things, the glass is either half full or the glass is entirely broken into lots of tiny unrecongisable pieces.

What we have is effectively a spectrum of possible outcomes, which include not only risks to this dimension, but also many more via a kind of cross-dimensional ricocheting effect.

[His face momentarily looks a little graver as he shakes his head.]

Some of the worse scenarios even have the potential for wide scale damage to the future of the multiverse as a whole. It's not great, kids.

The not-so-awful news is that there are ways to mitigate and even entirely avoid the damage done to the multiverse and to other parallel dimensions.

The bad news is that even in the comparatively better scenarios, this universe will not remain entirely unchanged or come out entirely unscathered, but in the context of those scenarios, we do save countless external lives in other dimensions.

The worst news is, yes, the ritual some of you have been looking into leads toward some of the least bad scenarios.

[His jaw tightens along with a small, resigned shrug.]

I wish I had brighter insight to share, but sometimes happy endings are hard to come by. This is the best I can give you.

[Leaning in to turn off the feed, something occurs to him very suddenly.]

Oh, and one more thing. Kylo Ren--[He gives the camera a slightly squint-eyed look]--we need to have a little word.

[Just before Stephen turns off the feed, the camera catches the sight of what looks like someone dropping a handful of change into Stephen's lap. The feed catches a glimpse of the sorcerer's momentarily unimpressed lineface, then cuts off.]

[ Donna doesn't opt into the video function when she starts up the communicator, an interesting little piece the soldiers on base handed over to her. Some people back home might have liked to get their hands on it for curiosity's sake.

Her inflection runs a little dry, events of the past couple of days and trying to get her bearings weighing upon her shoulders. To arrive in a world that's officially on a Doomsday Clock isn't the welcome party she wanted. ]

I'm trying to get this straight: one of the Moirai is on her way to potentially devour this world, but in the meantime one of her other sisters is going to keep bringing us in and the soldiers on base are kind of raising their arms up in defeat over it. That's thrilling.

[Since his fight with ~~Vader~~his Shadow, Anakin has been keeping a low profile - except when he has to work. Or take his dogs for walks. Life goes on, after all - even if you have a split lip, a black eye, a bruised throat and his only hand in a splint. Oh and all the bumps and bruises under his clothes too.

He sounds hoarse as he speaks - maybe he should have relied on text? But that requires patience and he has little of that.]

[ This video post is filmed somewhere up on a warehouse somewhere in De Chima, if you happen to recognize the skyline behind him. But that's not the focus of the video. Nope, you're probably more interested in this guy in a bright red-and-black (or is it dark blue?) suit perched comfortably on a roof top. If you know Peter ... this might be completely obvious. But he's at least tried to pitch his voice lower and generally pretend like he's definitely an adult who has no idea who Peter Parker is. ]

Spoiler alert, this is gonna be a little weird. I'm Spider-Man! But I'm apparently not the first Spider-Man who came here, and definitely not the only Spider-Man in existence. I've already met, like, ten strangers who know who I am, and not in the "hey you're the spider guy from Youtube" way.

So - if you know who I am, I would seriously like to hear about it. Even if you hate me! Especially if you hate me. Because odds are we can totally work it out this time.

[ A pause. ]

And for everyone else, nice to meet you? Uh, as nice as it is meeting anyone during an apparent zombie apocalypse.

[ There's a soft, growly sort groan from behind him and below him. And a couple undead hands flail into frame, trying (and failing) to climb up to his level. ]

[Things have been going to absolute shit lately, and no, Nox is not above noticing. He's spent the bulk of his time so far investigating the strange ruins that keep appearing, but having satisfied his curiosity on that front, he's going to go and get his good deeds for the month out of the way.]

Anyone not busy running damage control as reality seems to be trying its best to tear itself apart- where is help needed most?

[He could try to figure this out on his own, but time tends to be of the essence in these sorts of situations. And seeing as how all the strange phenomena seems to be widespread, well... better to just start asking.]

As far as I've been able to determine there's no single source for any of this mayhem, so I'll be dedicating my time to wherever additional help is needed most. Anyone dealing with strange ghostly phenomena or the dead not staying that way- both are familiar enough situations. The latter may have different effects, but the disease itself seems to follow similar patterns of transmission as the Rakghoul Plague from my own galaxy. As such, I'm more than familiar with how to best deal with it.

[He's not trying to hide his identity over the network anymore since at this point he's confident enough that no one's going to try murdering him immediately, but. That does add in the additional factor of whether or not anyone's going to willingly seek or accept help from someone with Darth in their name.]

Instead he's storming around Nonah 001 trying to find a clean uniform, because why is it you never have a clean uniform when you need one the most!! He's carrying his comms device as he goes, rummaging and clattering around off-screen as he sorts through his laundry. And judging by his tone Sun Dad is not here to fuck around. ]

I just don't want anyone thinking they can't save innocent lives just because the US government doesn't endorse it.

And don't get me wrong - I'm not here to argue the finer points of why Non-Registered imPorts don't deserve to be second class citizens just because we don't want to sign on the government's dotted line. That's not what this is about right now, not when the Bleed is collapsing around our ears. Because frankly? The multiverse doesn't give a shit what you or I think about Registration. No-one that we save is going to check what's written on our wrist first.

[ In fact, it's hard to tell what's pissed him off most - the Registereds-Save-The-World-Only message from the government or the fact that REALITY IS MELTING. Or maybe the annoying state of affairs his laundry is in. ]

This isn't a recruitment drive. You don't need to join ImPact after this is dealt with. And nobody's going to give you a paycheck or a uniform. I just want you all to know that just because you're Unsettled doesn't mean you can't help save innocent lives too.

[ He gives up his search temporarily, facing the video feed with an expression like thunder. ]

And if anyone tries to arrest an Unsettled imPort for helping I'm going to get angry. After we save the fucking world.
