[Video] He’s Back!

[The feed opens showing the face of a bearded man that some may or may not recognize. His expression calm and seemingly in good enough spirits for being a new arrival.]

Hello there. This is Obi-Wan Kenobi, and it seems that I’m back.

[Although it’s a bit fuzzy, this Jedi does indeed remember his previous time in this world.]

Its been awhile, hasn’t it? At least from the perspective of those of you who have never left.

[For him, it’s not been long at all, and he was a bit surprised by the ordeal. After all, he discovered that he’d apparently been gone for a year or so. There are some mixed feelings certainly, but he’s not really upset that he left and then returned just as abruptly.]

Have I missed anything?

[Yes he was briefed on the general state of things, but he’s more interested in what’s been going on with those he knows here.]

The duration of time has caused very different circumstances. I believe we should meet in private to discuss... matters.

Oh... you’re still here?

[Hes not particularly enthused.]

Hopefully you won’t be offended if I politely decline your offer? Considering the circumstances of when I was here last.

[You know, the whole murder thing? He hasn’t forgotten about that.]

Then I will make a public apology to you here. My actions were ill advised last time you were here, influenced by Count Dooku. But much has been revealed since and I know now of his vile corruption of myself and others.

Welcome back, Obi-Wan.

[ Well... Luke's definitely a lot different from the last time Obi-Wan saw him. He's definitely a lot calmer, more Jedi-like than the last time they had seen each other, though there was a distinct solemnity to him now as well. ]

A lot has happened since you were here last.

It’s good to see you, Luke.

[While he’s certainly happy to see Luke, he notices the change in demeanor right away.]

I would certainly like to hear about it.

[ A small smile came to Luke's face at that. ]

I'd be happy to fill you in, in person. Do you want to meet up now, or later?

Master Kenobi! It's good to hear your voice again.

[ Kanan says that with genuine feeling. He might look a bit different than when Obi-Wan last saw him - though his hair and beard are growing back nicely since he returned. But it's more than just physical - a certain mix of understanding and sorrow has sort of permanently wrapped itself around Kanan. ]

You'll be pleased to know that Count Dooku is gone - for a start.

Kanan, I’m pleased to see you’re still here as well.

[Is everyone sad here though? Luke seemed a bit melancholy as well. The news of Dooku probably doesn’t get the reaction that Kanan expected though.]

Dooku is gone? ... Well, I suppose that’s for the best.

[Obi-Wan would have liked to talk to him, so he’s a little disappointed. But that can’t be helped.]

[ Everyone is sad in Star Wars, okay???? ]

Maybe he'll come back.

[ Anything is possible! ]

People are always coming and going - I can't even really keep track. My Padawan is here, though. So I'm keeping busy.

[Boba is never going to be at ease with the presence of Jedi on this world. The fact that they’re here at all, even forced into a stalemate by the rules of this world, is always going to be a source of stress and frustration. But, at the very least, he’s accepted that there does seem to be a stalemate. The Jedi here are from too late a time to know who he is and they don’t seem to care to find out. Even if they did, it’s not like either side could kill the other permanently. So while Boba isn’t at ease, he’s not quite as on-edge as he used to be.

That changes when a new video post pops up on his network feed and he sees a Jedi he actually recognizes. Obi-wan Kenobi. The Jedi who had pursued him and his father out of their home on Kamino.

He feels a flash of anger, just as quickly followed by apprehension. Unlike the other Jedi here, Kenobi has actually met Boba before. He might even be able to recognize him on sight—or whatever extra-sensory perception Jedi seem to have.

Boba’s not stupid enough to reply to the post. All he does is make a note that from now on, he’ll have to be very, very careful about ensuring this particular Jedi doesn’t get close enough to spot him.]

General Obi-Wan Kenobi? From the Clone Wars?

That’s correct. Do I know you?

[Not that he would be surprised if he didn’t. He knew quite well that he was a well known figure from the war.]

No. I just know of you from history, we didn't get much more than some stories of the Clone Wars in Wild Space.

[ Like Ensign Vanto, Akobi recognizes the name Obi-Wan Kenobi, if not the man himself. He feels it is his duty to approach this new Jedi threat head on, and not cower like a scared child.

He's not wearing his Imperial Army uniform when he answers, simply a dark grey suit of modern design, but he's carrying himself with all the authority of his rank. ]

General Kenobi. I was unaware you had been on this planet previously. Obviously, that was before my time.

I suppose I ought to welcome you back, though this is perhaps not the best place for you to be.

[ Whether that's because of all the misfortunes this planet has on offer, or because it means One More Jedi for Akobi to watch out for... It's unclear. ]

And why is that? Sir?

[Yet another person he doesn’t know that knows of him. Certainly an interesting greeting, but Obi-Wan takes it in stride. He would be more guarded if he was back home. Here though, he’s not as worried. Or at least he doesn’t have reason to be as of yet.]

My name is Commander Jeroen Akobi, Imperial Army. Though, of course, the Empire has no jurisdiction here.

[ Which means he unfortunately can't arrest these Jedi for their crimes. ]

[ The name is more breath than sound, a look of shock etched across Padmé's face at the sight of someone she knows she'll be close to in the coming years, but who she's only just met again in her time. And just that sight of him tells her he's not from that time. ]

It's good to see you.

[ And it is, even if she can't quite bring herself to smile about it just yet. ]

Padme.

[Talk about a sudden rush of emotions just by seeing her face. Though something does seem a bit different than the last time he saw her.]

It’s good to see you again. You’re looking... remarkably youthful.

[Thats what it was. She looked younger. He knew how things worked here. Could it be she was from several years in his past? The war had been hard on them all and certainly aged them. Obi-Wan was no exception to that.]

[ Well, that does it. The smile curves the corners of her mouth and for a fleeting moment, she feels infinitely better. Obi-Wan is here, surely he can help her gain insight into... everything. ]

Thank you, though I certainly don't feel it.

[ When faced with the reality of the fate that lay before her, she felt positively ancient. A feeling that returns quickly, for the comment alone confirms he's from her future. ]

I was on Geonosis before this.

While I don’t disagree with you, I am curious why you suggest that.
