Memory share | Video or VR
[ooc: the second option contains spoilers for season 4 of Lucifer. If you want a clip of the second option, it's here. If you want in-person VR instead of video, go here.]
Option 1
There are no distinguishing characteristics about this place; it’s supposed to be a paradise designed to reward those worthy of eternal life, and each of them will imagine it differently once they’re there. Besides, the person whose memory this is doesn’t think of it as a paradise, so it doesn’t look like one.
The single clue to what this place is is the mass of angels occupying the space. At least one can assume they’re angels, since they’ve all got wings, in varying hues from dark gray to pure white. All of them except for two, anyway, and it’s impossible to make out what they look like.
The angels are standing in a circle around another angel, one with pure white wings. Those who have met him, or seen him on the network, recognize him as Lucifer. Lucifer, it seems, is having an argument with one of the non-winged figures. The rest of the angels are watching silently. (The argument is happening in the celestial language, so only another celestial being can make it out.) The argument grows more heated, and still the rest of the angels remain silent.
The nebulous figure points, with one hand, in a direction behind Lucifer. The scene shifts, and Lucifer stands in a new location, alone, and a massive pair of gates clangs shut behind him. (Yes, the Silver City really does have gates.)
The scene shifts again, and now it’s dark and gloomy, full of sharp rocks as far as the eye can see. Doors to not-yet-occupied cells jut out from the rocks. Looking closely reveals that none of the doors have locks.
Standing in the midst of his new domain, a change comes over Lucifer. In place of the face everyone knows, a new one, complete with glowing red eyes, appears. His wings are still pure white.
He’s more alone now than he’s ever been.
Option 2
He’s standing on a balcony, the sounds of LA traffic and his nightclub far below. He knows what he has to do to keep them safe. Not just the people he’s come to care about in his years here, but all of them. Everyone in Los Angeles, and the rest of the world, too. Their only chance at living their lives is if he keeps the demons at bay.
He hears the elevator doors open behind him, and he knows before she says anything that it’s Chloe. It’s all been taken care of, Charlie’s back with his parents, and that was his main goal. Whatever happens next, whatever the fallout of this is, he won’t be here to see it. He has to leave. It’s his only choice. Chloe knows it before he’s even finished saying it, but she doesn’t want to hear it any more than he wants to say it. Even as she begs him to stay with her, he knows he can’t.
This is the hardest thing he’s ever had to do. Harder even than the times he died to keep Chloe safe. This time he knows what he’s giving up, and doesn’t know if he’ll ever get a chance at it again. Chloe, his friends, their lives will eventually go on without him. Will he ever see any of them again? Only time will tell. There’s one truth here, and nothing else matters right now.
"They must have a king."
And he has to leave all of them behind, and his life here behind, and go back to the one place he never wanted to see again. Back to Hell. He unfurls his wings – back to the same pure white angel wings they’d been until recently – and after a moment to enjoy the fact that the woman he loves also loves him, he disappears from the balcony.
A moment later he’s on a rocky throne atop a spire of rock that towers over other spires of rock. The king has returned.

private audio;
Not that I was trying to peak in on anyone's business but—
Are all angel parties so fucking boring? Looks like you were kicked out at the right time, at least.
private audio;
[He's starting to wonder if this had been doomed to happen from the start. How could his father have created a child who dealt in desire and not expected something like this to be the result?]

...It's easy to forget you-
[He can't say anything. His throat works.]
Others stood with Lucifer in our reality. Beelzebub at least.
Private |
[Not literally, obviously, but Gabriel knows what he means.]
Re: Private |
Re: Private |
There are no princes in Hell. Just me.
Re: Private |
[He stares]
- Cut out everybody upstairs.
Re: Private |
Nobody wanted that job. I didn't want that job. I ended up there anyway, and I haven't seen most of them since. They could come for a visit anytime they want. They haven't.
Re: Private |
...Did he...send you down there? Because...if it's a job...for you maybe you were the only person...he could...trust to do it.
[Gabriel looks like he has a sudden headache at that, a sudden onset one.
And it's like a broken switch in his mind because he just stares and looks like he's in genuine pain.]
Re: Private |
He tried to make me take the job. I didn't want it. Then my rebellion failed and he had a way to make me take it.
He banished me from Heaven. There's nowhere for me to go but Hell.
[At least until he'd made his visit to Earth a permanent one.]

You have WINGS?
And HEY, it's that lady that tried to catch me for "stealing". You two are hooked up?
no subject
Yes, Chloe is my girlfriend.
[Because those are clearly the important things here.]
no subject
That's good? You two been together long?
no subject
[It's not as glamorous as it sounds.]
Since we arrived here. Almost a year.
no subject
So in other words... You're Satan. Lucifer. Beelzebub. Samael.
[ Has he not been paying that good attention to the network in the past year that he's apparently missed the memo that the king of Hell was here?]
no subject
That is who I am.
no subject
Buddy, either you don't post often to the network or I've just not been paying better attention. You're SERIOUSLY Satan.
