I've been having some... very strange dreams.
[Jane is at home, in front of a painting hung up on the wall behind her. The painting is of a tower on an island against a stormy-looking sky but the entire image is strangely blurred, as if seen through a fog or as a reflection in a window.
Her jackalope is on her lap, tolerating her attention (long, slow, gentle strokes of its soft ears). She hesitates before she goes on.]
I'm sure it sounds silly. [She has been very unsettled since she suddenly 'woke up' at that ceremony, dressed to the nines with no idea of where she was. Running had been her first instinct, and no doubt the same could be said of many others.]
But I wondered if anyone else had been dealing with the same thing since-- For the last couple of weeks. Normally I wouldn't mention it at all, [And her voice speeds up here, as if stumbling over trying to explain herself.] but one doesn't simply lose that amount of time without wondering where they might have been--
[There's a smile, but it lacks her usual brightness.]
Um... thank you.

...Frankly, Iām concerned that such an event can happen without notice here.

[She isn't as surprised as she might have been to see a robot talking, given her recent acquaintance with Knock Out, but there is still a moment of visible pause before she is able to answer Minimus without her voice cracking up an octave.]
It has happened before, and... fragments of other worlds have found their way here before. But I have never been unable to remember it.

[Things like alternate timelines, portals to another universe, that universe invading their own...Shockwave's plan to use the Dead Universe to control all life...]
Each time, many lives were at stake.

[She doesn't pretend to understand the science behind it. Jane isn't educated in those topics (given those topics did not exist to be taught in 1912 Earth), but she remembers the effects of those times and how many people had been in danger.]
It wasn't an easy time here, either. And it looks as if it hasn't stopped.

[How can he make sure the others are staying safe if he can't remember anything? What if someone was controlling his form in the other universe for their own purposes?]

Was the Cosmic Owl there?

[Though she does appreciate the attempt.]
I believe I'm dreaming about things that have happened to me, but that I can't remember...

I dream about my past lives sometimes. Sometimes I even dream I'm me, but living my past life's life.
[ Yes, that's totally what that is. Yup. ]

[But Jane isn't superstitious, and that kind of talk feels almost silly.]
It's happened before, but I remembered it almost entirely last time.

You did? I never remember my dreams that clearly. Except for Shoko, but that wasn't really a dream. Oh! Maybe you'll remember it if you can find a hypno-priest!

[Even though different, it was all too similar to what he's read on people falling from Ultra Wormholes, which scares him even if he doesn't want to admit that.]

[The dreams keep waking her up, and then she can't get back to sleep because she just lies there ruminating about what they could mean until the details fade from her mind.
It's vexing.]
I don't understand why I can't remember it this time.

[That next part gives him pause, and outward concern.]
What do you mean... 'this time'?

... I'm not sure.

It seems the dreams and that world are somewhat connected.

[She frowns, and picks up a pencil to scribble down the words that Rimuru had mentioned. They don't mean anything to her, but she feels like they should.]
You don't remember anything, either?
no subject
[ Rimuru sighs] I suppose we can try to find more about that world...

Has nobody who, um... remembers the past month talked to you yet?
no subject
[Though only a little, since she'd rather not be having disturbing dreams at all.]
But... no. There are people who remember?
no subject
My wife was one of them. She met a different me there, and I don't remember a dang thing. Just dreams.

[Though, really, she isn't sure what she would have done if she'd suddenly found herself in that kind of situation. She sighs and rubs two fingertips against her temple.]
Have your dreams been informative at all? Mine barely tell me anything.
