Oh well, the only way to find out is to just do the thing, right? So, straightening up, she clears her throat nervously and forces a smile. ]

Hello. My name is Vanya Hargreeves and I just got here. I'm sure you hear that a lot...

[ Her voice trails off and she looks down for a moment, clearly uncertain about continuing on this course of action, but what other choice does she have? This is who she is. ]

I've been given a job here, like everyone else I guess, but I'd like to also keep doing what I'm used to. [ What she's good at. ] I taught violin back home. If anyone's interested in private lessons, I'll teach anyone regardless of age or ability.

[ A pause, and then, tentatively: ] I also played in an orchestra. Is there anything like that here?

[After taking a little bit of time to settle in and read the pamphlet, Adora's starting to feel a little bit better about this rather jarring situation. It is a lot to take in, and a lot of what was said in the information was definitely not easy to understand, but she was pretty good at absorbing information and had picked out the most important bits. Namely that Etheria was fine without her for the moment, and that she might have been called on to help this 'earth' or something? What came next was a logical, if nerve-wracking first step: greeting the people here.

So, it's with a hint of trepidation and a bit of a sheepish smile that a young woman in a red jacket appears on the network.]

Uh...hey. I am one of the new imPorts to the city, and I thought that introducing myself would be the best first step. My name's Adora, and I come from a planet called Etheria. It's...pretty different from this place, that's for sure.

[Shaking her head, like she's just realizing something, Adora lets out a deep breath to try and stop the jitters she's got.]

I'm living in a place called Heropa, house number 6? It looks lived in but I haven't seen anyone else here yet, but maybe I just arrived at a time when nobody else was home. If you live here, let me know?

And speaking of living here, can anyone tell me more about Heropa? Places to go eat, things to see, that sort of stuff? I've never been to a place with this many streets before, and I'd like to know what people who've been living her a while think.

[She stops for a second, smiles awkwardly, and then waves.]

THE MAJORITY REPORT: FEBRUARY 20TH, 2019A new sense of H.O.P.E. is rising with imPorts are pulling themselves up by their bootstraps in an inspiring communal effort.

SCHOOL OF HARD KNOCKS
As seen in local Jeopardy news:
Cybertronian imPort Knock Out was fined under the Misdemeanor Act after he left Jeopardy native Joshua Atkinson clinging to the top of a school flagpole on Saturday night. Mr Atkinson was trapped there for several hours before his cries for help were heard early Sunday morning, and he was safely retrieved and checked over by Jeopardy Fire and Rescue.

Upon being reached for comment, Knock Out was apologetic. "The whole thing is merely a cultural misunderstanding," he stated. "On Cybertron, placing another at a greater height than oneself is a significant mark of respect. I most sincerely regret any accidental trauma inflicted on Joshua."

Mr Atkinson has elected not to press any charges.

AEGAD! AN UPDATE!
As seen on the official press release circulating throughout the Porter Cities and on Aegis Force Bwitter:
PRESS RELEASE FROM AEGIS FORCE: The operation to apprehend the arms dealer Franklin Duquesne, alias Master-at-Arms, has been successfully concluded. Aegis agents, in cooperation with local police and other heroes, have arrested Duquesne and several of his accomplices and customers, and taken dozens of deadly weapons off the streets of Maurtia Falls. Agents Ashley Williams, Psychopomp, and Lucina assisted in this dangerous investigation, and Agent Cayde-6 disabled the fugitive’s combat exoskeleton by shooting the power suit’s arms off with his ‘Golden Gun’ ability, before announcing that the hostile had been ‘disarmed.’

Meanwhile, the pursuit of imPort super-criminal ARMITAGE HUX continues. The charges against Hux now include attempted murder of an Aegis agent, coercing others into committing crimes on his behalf, causing a car accident through reckless driving, and littering. Hux is now believed to operate under the alias of REGULUS, an identity tied to the imPort criminal organization known as 'Constellation.' He has also demonstrated the ability to control the minds of others, and is wanted for questioning in connection with the death of BODHI ROOK earlier this month. He was last spotted fleeing a crime scene in Maurtia Falls, driving a silver Lexus.

Anyone encountering Hux is urged to exercise caution, as he is believed to be extremely dangerous. Take note of the attached updated file photo and notify the police or contact Aegis Force if you see this man or have any information on his activities that may be helpful to this investigation.

Watch the shocking moment solarpowered sun god Apollo appears to attack stalwart Aegis Force member Archie over Nonah city!

A vicious attack involving two imPorts took place over Nonah this week according to eyewitnesses. Footage of the fight, believed to show longtime imPort favourite Archie and new arrival Apollo, shows the latter releasing a solar flare at the beloved Poké personality, who is seen to be knocked out of the air.

[Embedded in the article is a grainy amateur mobile phone video, capturing what looks like Apollo attacking Archie and Crobat. The video cuts as Apollo dives after them both, but whether it's to save them or attack again is unclear!]

There are rumors that the incident may have been related to reports of Archie's alleged involvement in the previous Apollo's death. Conflicting accounts of the event have been circulating on Bwitter, with fan accounts openly declaring themselves #TeamArchie or #TeamApollo.

An eyewitness report of the event, who wished to only by identified under their online handle of 'apolloswife' was available for comment; "Clearly Apollo was saving that idiot! I mean, he's definitely the forgive and forget type, right? I'm amazed Aegis hasn't written that guy up for unprofessionalism!"

Another Nonah native called in with information, claiming staunchly that Apollo was first to strike. His aggression was uncalled for and clear proof that the new sunshine hero on the block is hiding something far darker behind the bright light he puts out.

Something must be in the air, indeed. For reason entirely unknown, imPort fandom has practically tripled in output over the past week. Excruciatingly detailed fanart of Max Carson and Tim Drake, purple prose ficlets of Andy and Georgia, actual sonnets of Mitch and Clark Kent have flourished over the usual imPort fandom stomping grounds. A local Nonah couple even cosplayed as Catra and Rapunzel and got engaged!

Needless to say, it didn't take long for an series of infamous ship wars to be declared. Is your name among the drama?

Soooooo.... hi. I'm new here, annnnd... I still have a lot of questions about what exactly is going on! Ha! Ha ha... I don't know how any of these things in this building work and I can't ask anyone outside for help because every time I try they just keep flashing me with bright lights on their little magic boxes and it's all really starting to kind of freak me out.

[ Great idea opening with run on sentences instead of an introduction, right? The nervous blonde on the other side of the video swipes at her forehead with the back of her free arm, revealing soot smudges on her fingers and palm, the other held up to record her video at a suspiciously low angle looking up. There's a kitchen towel over her shoulder and in the background, if you squint REALLY hard you can see a portion of wall peeking out that looks slightly charred and dripping wet. The top of a plastic pitcher, probably empty of its contents sits a little to the other side. The story tells itself almost.

She takes a deep breath, looking towards the ceiling while she takes a second to compose herself, because it's OBVIOUS she's ten seconds away from freaking out. ]

[ There is some lip biting and rubbing at the back of her neck ~~No Rapunzel that's the sooty hand!!!~~ going on here for a second, as Rapunzel is a little embarrassed to be admitting this on the open network- but it's necessary so DOING IT ANYWAY.]

[ Wow that sounds dumb. She is getting flustered which is evidenced by the nervous darting of her eyes and her pulling the towel off her shoulder to fidgit with before remembering that her other hand is the one holding the "magic box"- the moment the feed dips there's more evidence of the extent of the damage, briefly, before it returns to its previous position. She looks considerably more flustered now, laughing nervously at her own blunder. ] Sorry! Soanywaythethingis- I don't know if there's anyone here who has experience with, um... suddenly catching fire?? But I don't suppose there's someone here willing and able to teach me how to control it? PLEASE?? I-

[ Something off screen just caught her eyes, which widen in alarm. She lets out a startled shriek ("OH! No! Nononononononono!!!") and drops her phone, showing the dish towel on the floor now also ON FIRE. Thankfully, or unfortunately depending on your perspective, the feed cuts out abruptly. ]

I am in the midst of familiarizing myself with the history of this world, and how it differs from my own... Most of the discrepancies have been fairly minute, others less so, but it lead me to wondering about other worlds. Your worlds, and the histories theirin; if you care to share them. I suppose I'm just curious, is it common for most of us... "imports" to be from worlds that are similar, or ones that are vastly different? Is there anything here that has struck you as odd?

[There's a small pause, an aside glance, as he arranges the wording of his next question carefully.]

And, are 'powers' common where you're from? Whether it be mutations, magic, or anything of the sort. Are these things familiar to you?

Please do forgive me if I take a moment to understand anything you have to share. I must admit, I am still attempting to process all of this... But I would not want to have anyone feeling put-out for my misgivings. Thank you. I look forward to getting to know you all better.

[ Klarion usually avoids text if he can help it, but this has been bugging him for a while now. Text lets him ask the question anonymously, without any vocal inflections, emotions, or facial expressions to get in the way.

[This video looks like it's filmed on an actual camera instead of the communicator. Right now it's focused on part of a vest and a t-shirt which then resolves into Dipper Pines as he steps away from the camera. In the background, there are homemade backdrops and what looks like a bunch of maps and discarded flashlights. The angle of the ceiling implies that Dipper's possibly in an attic.

Carefully pulling off the cat that had been draped over his shoulders, Dipper straightens up and clears his throat, before giving a nervous wave. His voice only wobbles a little when he greets the camera.]

So uh, hey! I'm Dipper Pines and you might have heard about me or my sister, Mabel, since stuff just... kind of happens to us. But this isn't about that! No one's getting arrested or doing survival training in a swamp or setting off fireworks or anything like that. This is a cool thing! Totally safe. Mostly safe.

Anyways! I actually wanted to tell everyone that I have my own MeTube channel. It's all about exploring supposedly haunted places, researching cryptids and local myths... [Dipper holds up a sign that has, "DIPPER'S GUIDE TO THE UNEXPLAINED," written on it with marker, and the MeTube channel address underneath. The cat from before begins to bat at the corner of the sign as Dipper tries his best to do a charming grin, faltering after a couple seconds.]

[The camera clicks off. Should you visit Dipper's MeTube channel, it has a couple of carefully edited videos of Dipper apparently marching off into random bits of Heropa wilderness in search of urban legends. Surprisingly, there's some footage of what seems like it might be actual evidence of cryptids. Most of it's just unfortunate video evidence of what is probably breaking and entering and Dipper getting excited over strangely shaped rocks.]

[The feed opens up with a nice shot of Komasan sitting comfortably on the N5 couch for those who recognize it. It's all cleaned up and everything for the video, not a single feather in sight. But if you think the sofa is spiffed up, then get a load of Komasan. He's wearing a surprisingly nice suit despite the fact that it's tailored for a small dog, as well as a pair of sunglasses that somehow manage to stay on his stupid round face.

In one of his paws is a champagne glass, filled with what's probably grape juice. He swirls it a bit before taking a sip from the silly straw that awkwardly pokes out from it.]

Ah. So you're finally here, Komasan girls, zura.

[For whatever reason, he speaks in a lower, more leveled tone. The kind of tone where you know someone's trying really hard to pretend they're much cooler than they really are.

...Incidentally, it's at this point that it becomes apparent someone is recording him, a soft hitch in the audio not a moment after that, as if a little bit of static came through--wait, no, that’s someone’s voice, isn’t it? It’s soft, and clearly sounding like it’s trying to hold in what sounds like laughter.]

That’s so painful…

Well, I've got good news for you, zura. I want you and everyone else to know that I've started running for imPort... [He pauses, looks at his palm, then back into the feed.] ...hambassador, zura.

If you've ever wanted someone monge~ to represent you, you've come to the right youkai, zura. All I want is for everyone to be happy, the kind of happy you get after your first lick of soft cream, zura. We could do this, we could do it together, zura. Let’s make everyone’s soft cream dreams come true, zura!

”Soft cream dream?” [The accent’s almost a dead giveaway for anyone who knows Nonah 05 by now. Kaneda can hardly believe what he’s hearing, mostly from how ridiculous it sounds. But hell if he’s going to stop Komasan from his ‘soft cream dream’ himself, continuing to hold the camera as level as he possibly can.]

But if you don't want to vote for me, that's okay too, zura. You will always be my Komasan girls, zura.

[There's another pause, but he doesn't appear to be doing ...anything. In actuality, he's winking, but...he's also wearing sunglasses. So it's just...the most awkward few seconds before he throws the shades off and starts to act normally again, his voice back to being its usual baby-like tone.]
